Case Study: Essex Home Cinema

The Brief

Recreating a cinema experience at home.  A simple task? It is when you come to Audio 7. Being given a blank canvas to create a dedicated cinema room is music to our ears and we didn’t hold back in adding personalised features to create a truly bespoke home cinema that the client could be proud of.

To begin with we needed a projector capable of high definition images with an anamorphic lens attachment.  The excellent value for money JVC HD750 projector is a product we have lots of experience with and know to be an excellent performer and we sources an anamorphic lens with motorised sled allowing the lens to be engaged or disengaged as required. (For more information about anamorphic lenses visit our news item).  A fixed Screen Research acoustically transparent 2.35:1 aspect ratio screen displays fabulous images and with the anamorphic lens engaged gives the wow factor that any home cinema needs. The visual impact is finished off with curtains on a motor that open automatically as the movie begins.

The soundtrack is provided by a 7.1 Artcoustic package comprising Artcoustic Spitfire Diablo speaker at the font and Artcoustic Diablo monitors at the rear. Being an acoustically transparent screen, we were able to mount the front channels and sub woofer panels (again Artcoustic) behind the screen allowing vocals to come from the centre of the image rather than above or below the screen.

Lighting is controlled along with all the equipment installed via a Pronto 9400 remote control. One pres of a button takes care of everything allowing the client to sit back and relax as lights dim, as calming music plays in the background. Everything turns on a switches to the correct input, the curtains open to reveal the start of the movie. When guests are present viewing isn’t a problem as the floor is tiered with the luxurious reclining leather cinema seats offering nothing short of total comfort.

A perfect home cinema experience, all that’s needed is fresh warm popcorn. Did we mention the popcorn machine?
